Life as Prayer
I’ve just emerged from a powerful ten days in the Arizona desert, where I was holding a private 1:1 retreat in the vortex of Sedona. What unfolded was a living prayer; every meeting, challenge and moment of grace part of a much deeper alchemy between the personal and the collective. This is the work I live for: restoring the sacred to our everyday lives, and supporting others to meet themselves with truth, power and remembrance.
I am just landing out the other side of a deep vortex of energy. I have been in Arizona about ten days now and it has been profound in more ways than one. I came here to hold a private 1:1 retreat for a client of mine. We chose to do this in the majestic vortex of Sedona, a landscape as breathtaking and powerful as the energetic leylines running beneath the surface might suggest.
As I dove into the 1:1, I very intentionally connected to the power of prayer. Not the kind of prayer where you sit at the foot of your bed at night, hands clasped, but the living prayer we walk day to day, moment to moment. When I enter my work and open energetic space, there is a deeper awareness and intentionality that allows the prayer to move through me in a conscious way. From the moment we met last week, we were living inside that prayer. Every conversation, every chance meeting, every mishap or redirection was part of it.
In this case, and often when I work deeply with men, the prayer is connected to the healing and alchemy of wounds held between the collective masculine and feminine as much as it has to do with the personal. And in the same way, when I work with women, the prayer often supports the healing of distortions and wounds carried within the feminine lineage itself.
This is how I desire to live my life: with this level of intention and remembrance. The power of my words, actions and choices impacts not just me but every other being, organism and atom in existence. When things become intense or challenging, it supports me to remember this. To return to the “why” that exists beyond the “I”.
So when the retreat ended and my rental car almost immediately broke down on the side of the motorway, I stayed in that awareness. I pulled over, I breathed, and I trusted that everything was unfolding in the best possible way. That didn’t mean the two and a half days of endless calls, emails and messages to the rental company with no resolution didn’t stir me. They did. They pressed into my core abandonment wound. They pulled at my anger in ways that were uncomfortable to witness. They activated the cauldron of frustration and impatience within me.
Yet throughout this time I was able to witness, surrender and trust that things were working out exactly as they needed to. And they did. I had unusual, magical conversations and meetings that would never have happened otherwise. I learned more about myself and about what I am no longer available for. I saw where I stretched my boundaries. I saw how certain systems are designed to provoke reactivity. I saw where I still have integration work to do.
Most importantly, I felt my inner child and gave her space to be in the mess, the conflict, the confusion and the chaos. And I held her with as much tenderness as I could.
For those who feel a pull toward immersive 1:1 work, especially those moving through transition, identity shifts, relational healing, or a desire to meet themselves more honestly, private retreat space can be profoundly catalytic.
I share all of this to remind you that life itself is a prayer, a ceremony, a work of art in all its ups, downs and wild twists. The more we shine the light of consciousness on this, the more we are able to stand back and witness the madness without letting it rule us. The more we are able to trust the challenging moments, and soften into the path of least resistance with faith in our hearts.
In my deeper 1:1 work, whether through my six-month mentorship Threshold, my shorter bespoke containers or my private retreats, I am committed to restoring a sense of the sacred in everything we do. I support you to take this eagle-eye perspective, to feel the waves of life as part of the harmony rather than something at odds with itself.
What I’ve come to realise is that often those drawn to work with me are ready to refine. They have been doing the inner work and have a level of consciousness that is astute and attuned. They understand their patterns, their trauma, and they have met their shadows. Yet there may still be places that feel sticky, where blind spots linger, where old wounds still shape their relationships or their capacity to stand wholly in their power.
The work we do together is rooted in recoding, re-patterning and reshaping your relational field. You can do a certain amount of healing on your own, but when it comes to rewiring your relational patterns, you need a safe, attuned, grounded space with other humans. My speciality is holding the feminine flame for men and women who are ready to rewire their relational field and live, love and lead with confidence, clarity and a humble, embodied power.
If you need a clear mirror, a steady presence and a warm space to return to your most empowered, authentic and radiant self, I would love to hear from you. You can read more about Threshold or send in an application to work with me.
